This week’s Talent of the week is Besar Halimi, the midfielder was recently chosen as the Player of the Month for November. 6724 people voted on the official website of Germany’s Football Federation (Deutscher Fußball–Bund) and mr Halimi got 34 % of all the votes which meant 2283 thought he deserved the title.
Frankfurt raised Halimi shares the same hight as the Lionel Messi (1,69 m) but that has not stopped Halimi from scoring two goals and adding another 11 assist to his resume so far in the 3.Bundesliga. On top of that he has also been included in ‘Team of the Week’ seven times this season. His transfer from VfB Stuttgart’s reserve team to local rivals Stuttgart Kickers during the summer caught much attention but the coach believed in Halimi and has let him play from start in every single round this season. That’s 20 games.
His success has caught the interest of Portugese team Benfica who wanted to sign him to their reserve team. Halimi’s agent has even confirmed that they have been eager to get his signature this winter. Halimi responded to the rumours saying that he was flattered but wanted to focus on Stuttgart Kickers for the moment. The contract with Stuttgart Kickers expries at the end of the season and the question is, will the Germans let this youngster go?
